Paladin Sword-Everquest
A paladins sword, made for the Omens of War expansion.
Of all of the weapons that I designed for the Omens of War expansion, I found this sword to be the hardest to design because it was the simplest. Normally with evil characters and weapons, you can add a lot of horns, and faces, and clutter and it looks even better, but the idea of purity sometimes implies nakedness, or something with nothing to hide. And since Paladins are righteous, holy characters, I thought it would also be appropriate to subtly incorporate the overall shape of a cross, and add a fish motif in the shape of the pommel and scale pattern of the handle, alluding to being a "Fisher of Men".
In the end, I was very happy with this design, and felt that it had just the right balance of realism and stylization.

I remember questing for Nightbane, Sword of the Valiant (everquest.allakhazam.com/db/it…) over a decade ago in EverQuest. Alas, I was 3rd paladin on Cazic Thule to have completed it(i248.photobucket.com/albums/gg…); however I did it without a guild, just friends (today called pickup groups). Your artwork is very much appreciated, thank you!
